Stream of Conciousness

I can't put things together in my head.  I sit down to write and well... it's not pretty.  Nothing comes together.  So today you get random.  It's all I can give.

1.  I was introduced to Twizlberry yesterday and I'm pretty sure the baby is going to be craving it a lot.

2.  It's my job to take care of my baby so I really can't deny him can I.

3.  I love people who set a good example, especially in leadership positions... like those who are leading the youth, particularly the young women.  (more on that later if I can concentrate long enough to put things into words.)

4.  I went to the gym today.

5.  I did not die.

6.  Of course I didn't try very hard and I read a book the entire time.

7.  I really enjoyed it.  I might even try again sometime.

8.  This week has been all over the place.  Mostly because my dad has been in the hospital.

9.  The last three days turned out to be for nothing which kind of stinks because he was going a bit stir crazy.

10. However kudos to Logan Regional because they took the last three days off the bill.  I think that's pretty cool myself.

11.  Yesterday we had a pizza party in my dad's room and my brother and his "clan" came and we ended up having a rather rowdy bout of  surgical glove balloon volleyball.

12.  And my nephew kept hitting the call button for the nurse.

13.  I'm not sure what the hospital staff thought of all of us, but we still had fun.

14.  11 people in a hospital room is rather crowded.

15.  Dad is doing okay though. Has an appointment in Ogden on Monday with a heart rhythm specialist.  That's good news.

16.  I like potatoes.

17.  It's a good things cause I get them for free.

18.  I wonder if the baby will like chocolate when he's out of the womb cause I don't think he likes it now.

19.  Did I mention Twizlberry?

20.  Would it be bad to have that and only that for lunch?

21.  I did go to the gym after all.

Have a lovely weekend ya'll.  Perhaps you'll even hear from me again before another two weeks goes by!

Musical Thoughts

My first boyfriend, and my first kiss.   This was "our" song.  He wrote down the lyrics and sent them to me in note form.  You know, back in the dark ages before text messaging, cell phones, or the internet.  It was on paper and it was folded all neat like, a little rectangle with a flap that was tucked in for security purposes.  Note folding was an art, as well as note writing.  That's a story for another time though.

Firehouse.  Love of a Lifetime.

That song still gets to me, even after all of this time. Weird.  It must be something about that first love. That first someone that you kind of connect with.

He made me a mix tape. It had this song on it too.

I don't think it was meant to last.

Musical Thoughts... again!

I know, what is this rare phenomenon that is happening! I can't really be sure myself, I just feel the need to share in the awesomeness of the music that once was "the" music.  Some mock it now, but it still speaks to my soul.

Oh how I love big hair! or did? or don't?

And how bout something a little more mellow.

Seriously, can you live without having known the Scorpions?

And last but not least, the song I worshipped from 8th grade on even though it really didn't fall into my time frame. Chicago really is just awesome though... especially for hormonal teenage girls who cling onto anything remotely sappy but will rather die than admit it.

Sad! Embedding disable, but you should check it out anyway, here's the link.

Ah, love.  And for the record, Peter Cetera was never good looking.  Hope that doesn't offend anyone.  Great voice though.

A musical thought

K  So rarely to I post things about music here.  But a friend of mine mentioned this on her facebook status and I couldn't believe I had forgotten about Toto.  I love Toto.  It really brought me right back to those melancholy high school feelings.  Oh and the hair and earrings are stellar.

Enjoy

Okay, so I put in a Pandora station for Toto.  This was the next song and I just love the airband! Oh Journey, you truly have a special place in my heart as well.

And who can truly call it complete without a little Foreigner.

How about a little Mr. Mister to round things off.

Sunday

What a beautiful day, what an entertaining week! Here are some of things that make it lovely... in no particular order and with no particular sense.

1. It's currently 59 degrees and lovely.

2. We have a pet spider named Howard. We keep him around to eat the hobos. He lives in his own room.

3. We have a lot of hobos.. a lot. They turn up on the spider traps though and that makes me happy that they are doing their job.

4. I just ate 5 large chocolate chocolate chip cookies and I want to throw up.

5. That was a lot of sugar.

6. I just beat David at Settler's of Catan... a game I formerly hated but can actually stand if I'm winning.

7. Who knew?!

8. Really I knew, but don't tell David. I can handle games better if I win.

9. I don't like teaching Sunbeams. I substitute taught today.  Really I was last minute moral support.

10. Does that mean I would be a bad mom?

11. Does it really matter?

12. David is reading this over my shoulder and eating a lemon drop.

13. His breath now smells like medicine.

14. He says "At least it doesn't smell like chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough"

15. Since when does medicine smell better that chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough?

16. Unless it's like Flinstones vitamins. I used to love those.

17. I want to take a photography class. Anyone know of one in Logan not at the University?

18. We have a new camera, we named it Harley.

19. Our rather large television died last week.

20. We've replaced it with another free tv that is... well less than. but free is good.

21. It's silver.

22. It's smaller.

23. It's better than the laptop hooked up to the dvd player.

24.  David had to talk in church today.

25.  Since I lead the music we sat on the stand together.

26.  This is nothing new since he's good and sits on the stand with me anyways.

27.  But it was better because he had to stand up this time.

28.  And I like the view.

29.  We leave for vacation in 9 days.

30.  I love vacations with David.

Here's wishing you all a lovely week.

Fertility and Horror Movies

It's me, David again.

On Friday the 13th, we are heading down to the Fertility clinic again to get one of the tests out of the way. It is called the Kruger test (as in the Kruger Strict Morphology test).

Our fertility endeavors have turned into an 80's horror movie!

Bring me your tired, your cold, your weary...

... and your favorite blogs!

I'm always up for looking at new blogs but have not had the time to search for them lately.  Something about getting ready for a move???  Crazy, I know.  But I love good blogs and who better to share them than the wonderful people that grace my blog with their presence!

I would love for all ya'll out there to share some of the ones you follow.  Doesn't matter if they are funny, crafty, cooking, artsy, churchy... just share!

Black Socks

Father Ted: That's right, Dougal. You see, ordinary shops sell what look like black socks, but if you look closely, you'll see that they're very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue.

Father Dougal: That's true. I thought my Uncle Tommy was wearing black socks, but when I looked at them closely, they were just very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue.

Father Ted: Never buy black socks from a normal shop. They shaft you every time!
This is a little episode from "Father Ted", a BBC comedy of sorts. This was particularly poignant to me because I recently bought a pair of black socks, well, until I wore them with black pants and low and behold, they were just very very very very dark blue. I thought it humorous enough to share.
