Vegas... do we really get along?

Some of you may or may not know that I am currently spending my time in the city of sin.  Yes, I have hung my my hat temporarily in Las Vegas.

My view out the window:

I am here because of this:

and will be here till Thursday afternoon when we fly out.
We flew in on Sunday and being bored out of my mind I finished this:
I quite enjoyed it though I was apprehensive about how it would turn out but that's for another day.

Monday night brought us here:
It was a lot like this:

We were there till midnight.  This morning this helped:

Imagine what it would have been like if I was a drinker!

Speaking of drinking.  There's a fridge in the room but it has this on it:

Which is a shame because of this:

Though I didn't pack a supply of bottled water I did pack this:
and it has helped immensely.

In summary:
The goods and bads of Lora in a Las Vegas night club:

Positives:
#1.  If I went into cardiac arrest the beat of the music would have resuscitated me.
#2.  I was the only sober person so I knew the cover band stunk.
#3.  It's fun to watch unattractive, overweight, older women gush at younger men.
#4.  I actually remember the entire night.

Negatives:
#1.  I actually remember the entire night.
#2.  No one dances unless they are drunk.
#3.  I wear too much cloth on my body to fit in properly.
#4.  I kept on trying to turn into a pumpkin at 10 o'clock.

all in all I still have this on my face:

  1. Do you know what's really fun? Mini bar with a toddler. Try not to have things "get off" their sensors with one of those...esp. when the m&m's are w/in sight!

  3. Tawyna: sounds like an interesting trip!

Katherine: yep, gotta go again. I think Alan is hoping we'd all get along better afterwards with renewed energy and the drive to put everything back together again that is falling apart. We'll see if it works out!

  4. Sounds like fun!

Vegas is a trip. Not a trip I need to take more than once a decade, probably (although, if I could go clubbing with you...). But a trip!

  5. Ahh, Vegas and kids, what a not fun combo! We stop there frequently when we drive up from CA to see the family in Utah and overnight somewhere. Also, my husband works in that area sometimes as well. We have encountered many mini-bars with the timers and the first thing we do when we get to the hotel, at the front desk when checking in, is request housekeeping to come up and clear out the mini-bar. And they will come, sometimes you have to call from the room, but you can tell them, "Either clear it out or upon check out you will have to credit my account because it will have been these crazy toddlers that picked it up and hid it somewhere in the room that housekeeping will have to try and find!"

Anyhow, I am glad you survived the "City of Sin" and made it back to the cold land!!

  6. lbs: even though we haven't met I'm willing to bet money I would have had much more fun at the club with you than with my boss.. (for the record being there with the boss was totally weird)

Gretch: excellent idea on threatening the Vegas staff! I would want to do that just because it would be interesting to get a reaction!

  7. Gotta love 'Vegas ;) Being from that area, I have to say I've never been clubbing down town. I know. Shocking, right? But a lot of the locals stay away from The Strip. Sorry you had to deal with some of the craziness ;)
